Above All

Above all powers, above all kings
Above all nature and all created things
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
You were here before the world began

Above all kingdoms, above all thrones
Above all wonders the world has ever known
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
There’s no way to measure what you’re worth

Laid behind a stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone
Like a rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all

This song reminds me that my puny little power is no power at all when compared with the power of God. Who can add a moment to his life or save himself? The man who trusts in himself or human institutions is destined for a miserable life, while the man who trusts in God will be blessed. Trusting God is depending upon Him, whereas trusting in man is acting on our desire to be independent. The turning point of our lives is when we stop seeking God we want and start seeking the God who is. God reveals Himself to any man who sincerely desires to abandon his rebellion and know Him as He is. Are you ready to shout out that He is above all? Or you are making your own standard by calling yourself above all?
